En la misma visita a París, por supuesto aproveché para visitar el Jeu de Paume, lugar de referencia para  la fotografía y la imagen visual (recoge la obra de artistas del XIX al XXI, y produce también la obra de artistas emergentes). 

En ese momento se exponían las fotografías de Diane Arbus. Su obra es aún más impactante al natural de como la recordaba en las reproducciones de los libros. Diane Arbus fue precursora del flash de relleno en el exterior, algo que ahora nos resulta tan común. Fue alumna de Lisette Model y con ella descubrió lo que la motivaba a ella a fotografiar, retratar la realidad tal cual era, con planos muy frontales y retratando especialmente el mundo marginal, un acercamiento a lo humano sin precedentes y tan imitado posteriormente.

Su hija, Amy Arbus también es fotógrafa, y aunque su estilo es diferente, se nota una clara influencia.

When visiting Paris, I took the opportunity to visit the Jeu de Paume, a reference site for photography and visual image (it collects the work of artists of the XIX to XXI, and also produces the work of emerging artists). 

There was an exhibition by Diane Arbus. Her work is even more shocking as I remembered by books. Diane Arbus was a pioneer using flash outdoors, something that it is so common nowadays. She studied with Lisette Model and that let her discover what she was motivated to photograph: to portray reality as it was, with a front view and portraying especially the marginal world. That approach was really imitated later. 

Her daughter, Amy Arbus is also a photographer, and although her style is different, there is a clear influence.
